BT3 and Help Me Grow in the News

The New York Times is drawing attention to an important challenge facing families
in New York State: too many children are missing screenings that could identify and
address developmental concerns.
The story, reported by Sarah Carr for The Hechinger Report, explores efforts across
the state to change that, including the work of BT3 and our members to replicate
Help Me Grow across the Adirondacks

It is not known how many children receive routine developmental screens in the
Adirondacks, but New York ranks 46th in the country (28.4%) vs 36.5% for the
nation. For comparison, Vermont, which boasts a statewide Help Me Grow
program, ranks first with 65.6% of children screened. To read the story go to: The
