Our Story
The journey started with a clear vision: to ensure every Adirondack child has the chance to reach their full potential from their earliest days.
Adirondack BT3
Research shows that the care, nutrition, and education a child receives during their first 1,000 days has a profound impact on the rest of their life. Eighty percent of their brains develop by age three. This means that, by far, the most effective and efficient investments in education are in the earliest years of a child’s life.
The Adirondack Birth to Three Alliance was established in 2014 by the Adirondack Community Foundation with a clear vision: To fulfill every child’s promise to become a healthy, thriving, contributing member of their communities. Thirty-six service agency representatives, service providers, and other stakeholders, came together to provide a great start for our children – and the Adirondack Birth to Three (BT3) Alliance was born!
The Adirondack Community Foundation
The Adirondack Community Foundation funds initiatives that build stronger communities across the region, and that is exactly what the Birth to Three Alliance is doing. As a strategic initiative of the Adirondack Community Foundation, we are dedicated to strengthening early childhood systems as a core part of strengthening our whole region. Our economy depends on child care.
