Caring for a new baby requires buying a host of items, from furniture for baby to sleep in to clothing. The expense is daunting for many families in our region. A group of Birth to Three members were inspired by the Finnish baby box model to create a layette for new parents in our region. The group will put together a portable crib, a pair of pajamas, and information about safe sleep and SIDS prevention. We plan to distribute the layette to families in early 2017.
