Stand Up for Child Care – Business and Economic Partnerships

We’ve been hard at work bridging the gap between child care and regional economic stability. Building on our Stand Up for Child Care efforts, we are collaborating with Warren County EDC, Estolano Advisors, with the vital support of the Rockefeller Family Fund, to engage business and economic development leaders. This effort treats child care not just as a family issue, but as essential infrastructure for a thriving workforce. For a deeper dive into why this matters for our local economy, we encourage you to read this recent op-ed by Kate Ryan and Jim Siplon on the critical role child care plays in sustaining our regional growth.

As part of this project, Estolano Advisors has launched a series of interviews with key workforce and business leaders to better understand the specific challenges and opportunities facing our region. These conversations are helping us develop actionable strategies that align child care solutions with the needs of the business community. By bringing these sectors together, we aim to build a more resilient system that supports both the families who need care and the employers who rely on a stable workforce.

We are looking to expand this dialogue and would value your input. If you know of small businesses or employers in the area who are navigating these issues or have innovative ideas to share, please reach out with your suggestions. If you would like to learn more about this work, participate in an interview, or have a recommendation for a sector, business, or individual in our community it would be helpful to interview, please send Kate an email at kate@adkcommunityfoundation.org.
